as the waitress placed the shake on the table, the cup passed by me and i could smell a definite odd smell - a bit sulphury.during
the first taste that hits you is from the sulphur smell. then there is another weird taste. and then finally a taste that is ok - or maybe it is yr tastebuds recovering the first two assaults.after
if you are fortunate to have to burp, you will get to relive a little of the sulphur taste in your belch.this shake was desert after a fine meal of spring rolls, crab rangoon, almond shrimp, veggie tofu, coconut and curry eel (yum!!!), and lemon grass tofu (also yum!!!).

i LOOOOVE durian, fresh. but i'm not sure how much i like it morphed into ice cream or milkshake etc. fresh durian + coconut ice cream = sooo good!!!
me n a couple other asian friends at an old job would get some once in a while. we loved it so much... and one by one, practically all the other co-workers would come over, complaining about the smell going thru the whole store. we were even eating it outside, in an effort not to offend!
mmmm stinky fruit. you hafta give it another shot...

yeah...i wanna try the real thing..actual durian fruit.
oh and whats less hassle is getting the frozen packages of it at asian markets. just let thaw. its still reeeally good and you don't hafta deal with cracking open that giant spiky fruit or knowing if its ready.
